Barbara Roqueta leads the efforts of Renaissance Health Systems of Florida, Inc. as Senior Vice President of Operations. A recognized and well-respected expert in the managed care industry, she has done exceptional work in the development of healthcare delivery systems. Ms. Roqueta possesses over twenty five years of experience in the healthcare industry and brings a wealth of knowledge to the organization.
Ms. Roqueta has contracted for several managed care organizations (MCOs). Attributable to her thorough understanding of negotiations with primary care physicians, specialists, and hospitals, she was able to ensure the marketability and effectiveness of the networks. Furthermore, working with the MCOs has allowed Ms. Roqueta to develop an extensive referral base with both healthcare providers and insurance companies.
Prior to Renaissance, Ms. Roqueta developed and managed statewide delivery systems for several management services organization. In this role, Ms. Roqueta was responsible for addressing all network development and expansion goals as dictated by the Company's needs. She was also charged with negotiating cost effective and profitable contracts along with managing the relationship between the Company and the providers.
In addition, Ms. Roqueta was the Director, Provider Operations for five years at Physician Healthcare Plan, Inc. (PHP) currently known as CarePlus Healthcare Plans, Inc. and Amerigroup in Florida. Ms. Roqueta was directly involved with developing policies and procedures to meet both regulatory and company requirements. Under her direction her area built and supported the networks. During her tenure, the HMO successfully grew into thirteen counties and achieved the maximum accreditation by AAAHC on two occasions.
Ms. Roqueta previously worked as Director of Provider Operations at St. Johns Medical Plan overseeing Network Development and Provider Relations. She also worked for HIP Health Plan (currently known as Vista Healthplan) and CAC-Ramsey/CAC/United Healthcare where she dealt directly with contract negotiations and provider services.
As part of her responsibilities, she helped develop the Credentialing Department for both St. Johns Medical Plan and Physicians Healthcare Plan, Inc.
Ms. Roqueta entered the healthcare industry as a Credentialing Coordinator for both Palmetto Regional Hospital and Pan American Hospital. In this role, Ms. Roqueta was responsible for the coordination of all medical related committees. During this period, she interacted with over 1,200 physicians; enabling her to create and maintain well respected relationships.
